Shin Godzilla 2016
A really solid take. Contains all the hallmarks of a godzilla movie, this time focusing on the darling of buerocracy. Really enjoyed the development of godzilla from the goofy looking start to it's final forum as well, and the effects looked really slick as well

How do you have a shark movie with no shark?
Clearly all the budget went on aerial shots, all we got was one awkward swimming gif and fleeting shots of it's mouth. They clearly trued to focus on character development, yet all of it fell so flat. Absolutely no peril and every dangerous situation was conveniently hidden by the waves. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice 2024
Honestly a fun sequel. It was never gonna be as good as the first, but it still has that Tim Burton flare smattered in and it was a huge relief to see that 90s stop motion sandworm done in the same way, and some of that off beat horror comedy vibe still there too. My only issue is that the plot was a bit thin, not really adding to much in terms of the overall story, and some characters felt underused. However, it was a fun watch and to see the original cast still bring it was very fun.
