Absolutely criminal to stretch this story into two films totaling near 6 hours…I love the source material but my god do they make it tedious. The first act (the better act) suffers without the closure of the second, and Part 2 will surely be another exercise in tripling the runtime of the musical while adding very little to the production. The real treat here is watching the leads, who have the sauce and chemistry that made the original roles iconic.…
