I’m speechless. What a moving story.
I never thought I’d care so much for a choir built of spoilt rich kids. Genuinely the culture within the film was rich and reminded me of how much there was for me in high school!
Ultimately this was a feel good film that left an impression indefinitely. One of the best films created in Aotearoa to date! And also inspiring that it was set and filmed within my home city of Christchurch. Stories truly do come from any place in the world, even if those places feel as insignificant as your home.

Holy moly! What a ride that film was!
Got the be my favourite Scorsese film.
The fast pacing and linear storyline’s of Leo and Matt Damon created so much tension for the final scene with the two of them on the roof.
The amount of time that would have to be put into creating such an in depth and foolproof story such as this one is impressive.

Really great story! I think that the characters are complex enough that I start to actually care about the decisions they make along with there fortunes and misfortunes and that is always the aim when writing characters. And it helps that the actors gave great performances!
I think the choice of cinematography was interesting at times. It was creatively shot with many ‘cool’ angles however I don’t think those angles always progressed the theme or story. I feel as though they were there for the sake of their coolness.
Overall, a great watch and I’d definitely recommend.Translated from by
