We need to support and encourage more female directors and female lead films. It’s important as many voices are heard as possible.

I’m not the biggest comic-book movie fan but this was a lot of fun. A lot of really good characters in this one. Normally the villains always let these kind of films down for me but Michael B Jordan was great as the villain. He wasn’t one-dimensional. He had reason and you could tell he didn’t see himself as the bad guy which always makes the most interesting ones.

    Blade Runner 2049 is a self-indulgent exercise in style-over-substance.

The Shape of Water is one of Guillermo Del Toro's most accessible films, and I don't mean that in a bad way at all. This is a lovely and moving film with beautiful cinematography and great performances from all. In particular, Sally Hawkins who is amazing here. This is one of the best films I've seen this year and up there with the best of Del Toro's works.

It Follows is an incredible film. I said that when it was released, and I’m still saying it today. It’s creepy, beautifully shot, has amazing camera-work, an awesome score, a great performance from Maika Monroe, and one of best opening sequences of recent memory. If you haven’t seen this by now then you are missing out.
