Throughout the entire viewing, I was tickled imagining what it was like to be on the set & costume design crew for this film. From that opening scene in Doc’s shop - I smiled my way through it thinking that was a dream job for somebody. I adored the obvious product placement in this film and was happy to pick up the proverbial breadcrumbs of clues taking me on the journey of this plot.
I was moved by the Mcfly father/son…
Rooster. That stache. That attitude. That warm embrace between him and Maverick. Nothing like two men embracing after facing death. Am I joining the Navy? No. But do I wish I could experience the kind of camaraderie that comes with fighting and overcoming an enemy? I haven’t decided yet. But did I cry at that last scene when everyone was celebrating on the aircraft carrier? Yes. Yes I did.
I might just watch the original Top Gun now.
What can be said? After the initial horror of the opening scene, I felt like I was able to settle in with the gore. I’m usually one to close my eyes and ears to scary movies but this was next level ridiculous and the dramatized bad-guy characters have yet to creep into my dreams.
Totally enjoyed from beginning to end. Great date night movie. ✋🏻🤚🏻 Ten thumbs up.
