For a film that sold itself as a look behind the curtain of Maria’s life, it felt like this only added to the legend of Maria - I left not knowing any more about who Maria, as a person, was. The dialogue felt overwritten and stunted at the same time. The plot meandered with no real character development and was ultimately a struggle to get through. One star for the beautiful cinematography and another star for the last 20 min of the film.
An exposition on the intersection of faith with humanity and all the complications that follow. These men of God are also undeniably human.
