Saw this after I watched Anora, I really like this Sean Baker's style of complete immersion in a real (often less than ideal) environment/story. Also had the same style in that both Anora and this were comically crude for most of the movie -- only to have an ending that makes the seemingly insignificant throughout suddenly hold more weight. It has a way of forcing deeper re-evaluation of what you just saw for the 2 hours leading up to the finale.
Sean Baker, you're the man dude! Much deserved to be receiving his flowers lately -- awesome director.
Wish I enjoyed this more than I did, but it was just far too slow a burn for me. Twist at the the was cool but overall this one just didn't land with me like I expected. Still love my pizon Coppola forever tho.
