I cannot explain how good this movie is. Leaving the theater, I was questioning if I really had been on Arrakis for 3 hours. This is a 10 course meal for your eyes, ears, and brain. Masterpiece movie. Go see this in theatres!!!
Don’t go see this movie if you didn’t like the first one tho….
Despite the end of the film leaving me nauseous and horrified, no one can deny that Park Chan-wook’s Oldboy is a masterpiece within the revenge movie genre. The camera placement is so unique and environments are so engaging, that many moments (good and bad) will be seared into my brain for at least 15 years.
Considering this is a true story, and my love for F1, I had high expectations for Rush. Both acting performances are ok and the plot is fine but the film jumps from scene to scene without staying long enough (or providing moments) to allow the viewer to connect with the characters, causing them to feel one dimensional and robotic as they verbally explain their own motives, weaknesses, and passions. Very little visual storytelling.
Plus Niki Laudas wife just stops delivering lines halfway through the movie.
