I swore I'd sell my soul for...
One love, who would stand by me
And give me back the gift of laughter

    Your gaze will be everywhere.

Astonishing, funny, beautiful, deep, sad and incredibly touching. The best study of gaze ever made.

Watched at the summer solstice to make Lord Summerisle proud of me.

It may be the most accurate reflection of life on film ever.

Unrepeatable and immeasurable as a project. The way the story flows as the events of our lives do leaves you in a state in which you don't know whether you have seen a fictional story or your own life passing by.

The whole story is an excuse for the shot of the stilt-walkers in the corn field.

Obviously, I was delighted by this. I've been following Baker for many years and I'm very glad he's getting the attention he deserves. With that, there is a lot of hidden and forgotten cinema that is also getting love. No need to mention the special thanks he gives to Jess Franco and Soledad Miranda at the end credits.

Some intrusive thoughts I had during the screening:
    - There's a camera movement here that I only remember in Castellari's Keoma, superb.
    - Almost the entire film looks like an extended cut of Alfred Molina's scene from Boogie Nights.
