This rendition is a strong addition to my favorite genre, delivering tension and suspense in all the right places. The buildup was well-executed. The cast’s performances were excellent; each actor pieced it together. Direction and cinematography complemented the off tone, and pacing never felt rushed. With the lineup of cast and crew, it’s not a surprise the film held my attention. A must watch for psychological thriller fans.

An absolutely enjoyable, clever, and beautifully crafted film. The meticulous vision behind it was evident, with a decade of planning clearly reflected in every detail. The casting, costuming, and character writing were exceptional and deserve high praise for their contribution to this innovative spin on the Frankenstein story. Additionally, “furious jumping” has now been added to my vernacular.

I had high expectations for this film given the positive feedback it received & some of the overall good elements, but I found it lacking in both action and backstory depth. While it was entertaining, the film felt abrupt and some scenes, like the one involving the pizza, came off as ‘cheesy.’ The emotional elements were present and necessary, but overall, it felt more like a cash-grab or a teaser for something that had the potential to be much more substantial.

finaally writing a review for this coming-of-age film made by Jonah Hill: it delivers a raw portrayal of adolescence in a period-specific piece. despite its familiar themes, the film uniquely captures the essence of teenage life with authenticity and emotional depth.
