  Pays homage to the Lord of the Rings, while telling its own unique story. The beginning is a little slow but picks up fast. Very well written villain as well. All in all an excellent addition to the franchise for all fans. I look forward to watching it again.

  So aggressively mid, Ridley Scott simply does not have the juice. Line delivery falls flat, arena scenes are mid, lacks any depth of emotion or sense of scale/larger conflict. I care less about the historical inaccuracies but they were much more present than in the first movie. Every actor in this movie sucks, complete and total failure on every conceivable level. Even Denzel Washington sucks in this movie. I hope in time to forget that this movie exists. Gigantic nothingburger and waste of money. I would rather slam my head against a wall for two and a half hours than watch this movie.
