Bottle Rocket 1996
Julie and I were having a discussion about the “Wes Anderson aesthetic” when I realized she’s only seen Grand Budapest Hotel, so we decided to throw this on. Easy to forget how endearing and adorable all of the characters in this film are. Solid watch.

North Hollywood 2020
This film will be written off by many as a “Skateboarding movie” but truthfully, this is a story of a teen grappling with the duality of growing up; The urge to shed your skin and become a man while learning to never forget the things and people in your life that made you who you are. Solid performances from pro skaters help to mask a script that probably could’ve gone through one or two more rewrites, but overall this was a very enjoyable film.

Typically a fan of Edward Norton’s acting, but something about him in this film feels dull. Hopkins is still mesmerizing as Hannibal Lecter. Overall a fun watch, but nothing special. Scratches your crime film itch if you got one.
