this movie was genuinely hilarious and i love to think of it as a Black women led, “Friday”-esque film. there literally was never a dull moment in the movie and i laughed the entire time
i think what i loved the most about it is how natural it felt. keke palmer being loud but in the best way possible while also being bery ambitious, sza being stuck on a no good ass man despite her claims to hate “bad energy”……
This movie was a really good balance between telling new stories for new kids while also building upon and adding richness to "The Lion King" for adults who grew up watching the original. There were a lot of interesting parallels between the two, and the film answered a lot of questions about the original movie that I didn't even know I had until watching "Mufasa," if that makes sense.
