Trecartin (and Fitch, of course) assumes Lynch’s place as the greatest living moving image artist not least because he assumes total control over every facet of his works—but more importantly their shared predilection of revisiting ideas and themes over the course of their careers felt especially potent on this watch: the multiples, the video collage as canvas, the night vision—it goes on and on again and again, reverberations upon reverberations in the most rewarding way possible
