Dune 1984
The Lynch idiosyncrasies almost surpass the convoluted exposition required of such a densely populated novel. It may all be too much but somehow it becomes so outrageous, so all over the shop, that the absolute nonsense of it all comes full circle.
The plot points, the story, all don’t matter so much. The premonition and dream sequences create enough mood to render the voiceovers inconsequential.
But still, after all that, it’s a mess.
Just bring in that floating fat man.
