  This movie genuinely has everything. I was completely blown away. It's dark, it's funny, the story covers so much human ground, the sets and costumes are fantastical and brilliant, the performances incredible... I previously thought of Lanthamos as a clever guy but a bit of a cold fish. But this... this was a fantastic experience. Just about the perfect movie for me.

  Incredibly tense, wonderfully shot, great performances.

  Still not sure how I feel about the ending, but I guess it probably had to be that way.

  Was expecting a much more nakedly political film, for obvious reasons, but it's surprising how much this is not about politics. It's about the absolute inhumanity and psychic dislocation of war, told through the viewpoint of a group of war-correspondent adrenaline junkies. These people are extremely entertaining to watch, but I am glad I don't know them in real life!
