    Deadpool & Wolverine

    ★★★½

    Initial thoughts:
    - Fans of Deadpool, X-Men, Marvel, and pop culture in general will LOVE the references in Deadpool and Wolverine. However, it may be slightly difficult for more casual audiences to enjoy the movie but if we’re being honest you see Deadpool for all those things so it’s not a critique, more of an observation.
    - Because there are so many easter eggs and cameos though, the story left me wanting more. This is the first time Wolverine and…

  • Godzilla Minus One

    Godzilla Minus One

    ★★★★½

Full disclaimer: I’ve been a fan of the King of Monsters since I was 4-years-old so take this review under consideration but Godzilla: Minus One was a damn good film.

I’ve been numbed to middle-of-the-road American/Legendary Godzilla movies and while I enjoy some of them for what they are - the quality of the monsterverse doesn’t come close to Toho’s Godzilla: Minus One.

The look of Godzilla hasn’t looked this terrifying in a long time and keep in mind Minus…

    Novocaine

    ★★★

    Initial thoughts:
    - An entertaining movie from beginning to end that suffers from amateur writing at times.
    - When it comes to the action, humor, and the main relationship Novocaine excels but the same can’t be said in regards to how some of the story plays out. You have to suspend disbelief for this type of rom-com but there were a handful of unbelievable moments that were distracting even in this type of film.
    - The entire cast was great.…

  • Mickey 17

    Mickey 17

    ★★★½

    Initial thoughts:
    - Bong Joon Ho doesn’t ever seem to miss with his movies. I’ve seen 4 of his films and I enjoyed all of them for different reasons with Mickey 17 being no exception.
    - The entire cast is amazing but Robert Pattinson playing multiple clones steals the spotlight. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, that man can act!!
    - Visually speaking, Mickey 17 is stunning. Everything from the VFX to the camerawork, it looks incredible.…

    Dune: Part Two

    ★★★★½

    Initial thoughts:
    - The returning cast was phenomenal yet again.
    -  Newly introduced cast/characters were also brilliant.
    - The scale and stakes managed to be even bigger than the original movie.
    - The pacing was an improvement over Part One.
    - All of the side stories were just as compelling as the main story.
    - I hope there’s a Part Three.

    Full Review:
Dune: Part Two is a complex sci-fi epic that brilliantly concludes the important story beats from Part…

  • Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

    Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

    ★★★½

    Initial thoughts:
    - There was a lot more kid Furiosa than I expected but the actress was great. She compliments the stage of young Furiosa and the older one we get to know in Fury Road.
    -  The film was shot less frantically/shaky than Fury Road. It was a nice change up that looks similar to The Road Warrior and the original.
    -  It’s doesn’t top the crazy amounts of intense action from Fury Road but whenever fights go down…
