  i love when films cast real people alongside professional actors. this movie feels so authentic to the lives of people i am related to/have interacted with as someone who grew up in the midwest and i think that’s really special even if it’s not always a joyful experience for rural working class americans, nor obviously for the people they treat as outsiders. there’s a number of difficult themes explored here and it wasn’t always an easy watch but it was definitely worth watching. love the hand-held camera too
