Megalopolis 2024
In this cynical and ultra-corporate world, it is heart-warming to see a work of art so uncompromising and adventurous. It contains many contradictions and missteps, but presents itself with a confidence that makes it somehow work.
It blurs the boundaries of film, sometimes feeling very experimental or psychedelic, yet remains at its core a classic film, even timeless. It reminded me of Metropolis, and also of Twin Peaks The Return, in its surreal modernity.
