Not sure what to think of this film. I don't feel the casting for Lee and Eugene was the best choice, I didn't feel a strong chemistry/connection as I felt with other stories like this, but maybe this was on purpose since Eugene wasn't queer after all??? La Chimera 2023
This is a great film. The digging of graves intertwines with the digging on the different character’s personal secrets: a dead daughter, a hidden Brazilian family, a lost love, a lonely life on the edge. The Italian charm will soothe you through the language, music, and rural landscapes. There is something silly and picaresque about the group of gravediggers that is very amusing to watch and at the same time fulfills its role of ridiculing human ambition and behaviour.
