I wanted to like this and i hate to speak in broad generalities: but writer/director of something this large in scope and historically entangled (unless the w/d is an expert in the subject matter) 🚩; baby boomer making a “defining picture” about baby boomers changing the face of culture 🚩; a biopic focusing on an era where Joan fuckin’ Baez 🙌🏼 is instrumental to his career launch yet fails the Bechdel test this hard 🚩.

Fantastic acting and smartly directed. Did such a good job of showing how community theater and drama therapy swings widelyfrom “what tf is this corny shit?” to “oh my god this has given me a voice i didnt have and its healing my soul”

Knowing what little i do know about the shit people on the inside go through and knowing the much more i do know of how intense it is to make work like this happen and balance…
