Aaron Sorkin is a weird beast. He evokes a genre of neoliberal storytelling that is closer to the grave than the silver screen nowadays. In mounting a revolutionary defense of the status quo again, A Few Good Men somehow manages to take that smarmy sense of resistance to it's logical extreme by the sheer force of it's own theatricality in a way that I cannot fathom a lesser writer succeeding at.
