Oh where should I start with this studio ghibli movie. I love spirited away so much from the world building, the unique characters and the whole storyline it’s truly a beautiful movie. Probably my go to film when I’m looking for something comforting and heartwarming.

Dìdi (弟弟) 2024
This film kind of resonated with me as someone who’s Middle Eastern. The whole idea of parental pressure and trying your best to not be a disappointment hits hard, but deep down your family wants the best for you. Also the idea of trying to fit in is prevalent in all pre teen/ early teen kids which this movie also brushes on.

Don’t get me wrong I liked the show but I rated it 3 stars to serve as some sort of warning because it’s not rlly a show for someone who wants the plot to be easily understood and doesn’t want to constantly think. The whole anime is a complete mindfuck and is pretty dark at times like the club shooting at cyberia and the whole concept of “God” which sent chills down my spine AND DON’T GET ME STARTED AT…

Man the whole theme of the show is so cool. The art style, characters, the background panels from the manga and the soundtrack. I love this anime so much it has a soft spot for me and don’t get me started on the plot idea of giving up your past. Towards the end of the show it made my eyes water up, especially the ending.
