I left this movie with one thought: maybe it's not good for people to always get what they want.
Spending 60 years thinking and dreaming about this project, securing and self funding with ridiculous amounts of money, great actors (mostly), and all the other resources that Coppola had gathered through his fame and experience does not equal a good movie.
I don't think I'll ever like action movies. Not even for Pedro Pascal.
Everything is meant to be disgusting in this movie, but nothing squelchey, gooey or bloody makes any impact.
This movie is built on fan service, but that turns out to be a shaky foundation. There are many references, everywhere, all the time. The 80's retro futuristic sets are incredible. Visual effects great. Costumes fantastic. So it looks really, really good. And if you know the previous movies, you can appreciate this.
