Underwhelming in how scary it was (first slasher woohoooo) but delivered in every other way! Which I am the opposite of mad about!
Knowing nothing about the genre of slashers and just a tiny bit about murder mysteries, this was a good movie. Pulled on the heartstrings in all the right ways and confused me with red herrings and double red herrings. It was so beautiful. The transitions in lighting and camera work at different times. The score. The way it weaved in and out of the sound in the movie. The acting. The poignant story. The twists and turns. I bawled.
About the movie's timeline... was it supposed to represent her dementia? That's my guess anyways.
Heartbreaking, truly heartbreaking.
I think the timeline of the movie helped me sympathize with Briony. I start wondering if I would make the same decisions she would...She tried, she really did. Down to her last days. How could anyone live with something like that.
