I know the lack of gore was probably due to the small budget, but when Max goes in to look at Goose in the hospital and then leaves, looking so disturbed... I was expecting a shot of a scary melted face as an easy way to shock the audience. Having that expectation denied left it a lot more haunting, and went in line with what Max says to Jessie about not being able to wrap his mind around what happened…
