i obviously love the muppets but i do feel that this movie relies slightly too much on funny premises and not enough on the muppets themselves being funny
however bret mckenzie was absolutely the right choice for music supervisor

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2023
after spiderverse came out, a lot of projects and online art tried to emanate its art style and 2d/3d animation; however, a comic book style doesn’t make sense for projects that are not rooted in superhero comics. tmnt nails it because the 2d elements reference crayons and childhood which actually align with the reference material and don’t just feel like they are there because they look cool. not to digress too much but i think european animation is also really good at this — cartoon saloons movies draw directly from irish medieval art, for example.
