There wasn’t much that I disliked about this film. I thought every move was intentional, and while it might’ve been a little long, I thought it was for good reason. Loved the grading and lighting choices. I didn’t know much of anything going into it, so I was a little unsure of the tone — there were moments that felt funny, but the overarching theme felt quite dismal. This was such a silly film, great if you truly just need a giggle. It felt like a fresh take on the buddy comedy, and Keke and SZA were just the perfect casting choice for this duo. The whole time I was trying to guess how they were gonna get the money in the end, and the way it panned out felt thoughtful and not entirely on the nose. Love!
Saw this for the third time in a theater and it blew me away yet again. The fact that he wrote, shot, and edited the entire thing is endlessly inspiring. It helped reignite my love for film.
