Boring almost to an offensive extent. I didn’t even finish it. Also the coach being transphobic was not something that I thought was going to happen, let alone be resolved by the woman going to his house and giving HIM a peace offering for bodying him after he used her dead name.

Mean Girls 2024
It’s a fine musical adaptation, I just felt like the music was kinda lacking in certain spots where Ik the Broadway version shines. I really liked Karen and Janice but I think that’s a testament to the actors and not the writing.

Even if you take away the entire core plot about Fuck the book, the movie at its core is a beautiful story about a family dealing with loss in two separate ways. Every character feels completely rounded, even the police officer who’s only in two scenes. Everyone is just so beautifully written. Lisa, the sister, is only on screen for about 10 minutes and I found myself tearing up during her funeral scene. What a beautiful movie and with a fantastic commentary about the white people who consume “black media”. …I may need to rewatch Green Book and reassess
