guy pearce was nominated for an oscar for the brutalist but he should've actually been nominated for the role of felicia
watched this to understand suzanne collins' references better
not a perfect film nor a perfect adaptation of the master and margarita but a really good one, maybe even a great one, honestly.
i'm surprised they managed to make it as anti-establishment with comments about freedom of speech and how every authority is bad at its core. you can't help but drew analogies with what's happening in real life and i can only hope that for some people it might work as a wake up call.
casting snigir and…
i might've just unlocked a new phobia of birds with teeth
but now to the actual review:
this film combines some of the miyazaki's best works, to me it felt like a mix of spirited away and the wind rises. amazing worlds and gorgeous animation as always. i'm not quite sure that i got all the themes of the film right, because with miyazaki you never know, but what i'm taking away for now is the importance of letting go, acceptance and personal growth.
