  Involving, very classy, with a sophisticated story line and great acting, strongly emphasizing toxic gender traits, so maybe nothing to watch with your lib-besties. well anyways its cringe if you cant observe a character without constantly giving your moral judgement onto its actions, uhh so simple-minded. films are made to provoke, to make you question things but not to put yourself on a moral high-ground by degrading a protagonist for its wrong-doings. Anyways lol, a nice watch, good production for sure. 7/10

  Rewatch. Still waiting for a real rain to wash all the scum off the streets. Got reminded of all these amazing montages. Such a timeless one.

  I think there might have been a shortage of psychedelic substances in the paris metropolitan area in the spring of 2021. Jokes aside, this is Gaspar‘s cleanest, most realistic work, 35mm and split-screen like in ‚Lux Æterna’, but no seizure strobes or cervix POV’s. Slow-moving and demanding in its decelerated screenplay. What we get is a deeply involving emotional psych-drama that unfolds beautifully through-out the film capturing an old couple slowly drifting away from each others perception of reality.   Wong Kar-Wai‘s violent approach to his everlasting theme of desire and longing within malfunctioning relationships this time embedded in a more dysharmonic and aggressive undertone but with the same amount of cigarette fumes. Doyle’s stylistic camera gives the full experience. I need to start watching his films on the balcony 🚬🚬🚬
