Bina Daigeler paints with clothes. There is a distinct fairy tale quality to the scenes. Maybe it’s because of the impossibility of the colors. Their solidness mirrors the directness of the script. How has she struck a balance between strict simplicity and a rare perfect fantasy? I hesitate to call it surreal or dream-like because there is nothing whimsical about it. Just rightness. There’s a little bit of yellow in every shade in the film. Maybe it’s some magic of editing in post, but I’m choosing to believe that Daigeler handpicked each tone for its clarity, clarity with just a little bit of yellow.
