  it just does nothing new that's my main problem. from a seperate peace, talented mr ripley, the secret history, it's all already there, it doesnt show us anything unexpected. from the first voiced over sentence you wonder what exactly the unreiliable narrator is hiding & then it takes you at a very predictable place but theres no joy in watching the plot unfold & it's hard to care for anyone/any of it
  it's the perfect movie for an era of disney remakes booktok tropes & and 'sometgjng something' aesthetics
  & i tried to like it but i was waiting for it to catch me by surprise & it didnt

  loved this.
  had to explain to my dad why her ex-husband is absolutely insufferable (he thought they would end up together?? men 😬)
  the parallels on consent and care btw the two guys? absoluetly amazing, point made
  the scene in the first act with her friends? outstanding, every woman within a 50km radius felt that
  end scene/credits deserves blondie's Clean to top it off 🏚️🌧️🏠

  the surfing scenes are suprisingly nive, and i love the way they represented their friendship, it's just a shame this movie had to be pitched as a love story, as the main conflict clearly lies between Eden and Anne Marie, I mean there was so much to explore there, even the potential to make it gay af, its just such a shame
  doesnt help that the "love interest" is like the character equivalent of plain white flour + played by Alaric Saltzman 😐
