I can’t rate this movie.
It’s raw, uncomfortable , violent, hard to digest. It feels really true to what growing up as a girl can be like, in a sick way.
It’s well done in how it shows this violence but it also feels really exploitative of the young actresses, and it puts the viewer in an horrible position of witnessing underaged sex scenes. It feels like by trying to show an oppression the movie is reproducing it. Idfk what…

My Skinny Sister 2015
I watched it a while ago so my memories aren’t that good ( I don’t remember the kissing scene everybody is talking about) but I found it pretty good at the time, the way it depicts the sisters’ relationship during an eating disorder was very interesting and mostly accurate. I found it troubling and raw, in my recollection there is a real strain on the little sister from witnessing the illness of her sibling. Idk how it holds up now but it’s definitely a movie that stuck with me and made me reflect on my family dynamics.
