Shit reached directly into my soul and plucked it for 86 minutes straight like a fucking pizzicato player. I’m not even moved by this, I straight up came out of this theater with altered DNA.
Person infront of me was so tall he blocked exactly where the subtitles were and the first 15mins were incomprehensible for me.
Otherwise, great film. Cinematography, music, and performances really stood out to me.
How does such a simple experiment like this emotionally grip you from start to finish? How the hell do you set up just a tripod, essentially face it to a wall for several minutes, and then go on to convey such a profoundly rich story about a family’s history??

This is a gorgeous observation of memory, a bittersweet conversation about “home”. This film had me grieving for a childhood that was never mine to begin with, and for that, this is a triumph - in every sense of the word.
