I could write a million and one pages about this movie being a satire, a critique on colonialism, nationalism, the exploitation of workforces, and so much more, but it's better to be experienced. Robert Pattinson being a strange little guy, Mark Ruffalo absolutely chewing through the scenery, and an ultimately introspective tale of loving both yourself and the world you inhabit.

I am a kaiju fan. I am a mecha fan. I am going to be incredibly biased and say this is phenomenal, and Charlie Day and Idris Elba continually steal the show. In a just world we would have 6 of these movies. Unfortunately we do not live in a just world.

This movie can be read as a large amount of different allegories. A lot of them are really good, especially with how the movie progresses. It does struggle in some parts with a few too many smaller, unnecessary quips, and by the third act there were enough fake outs for me to be a little annoyed. Overall, the entire for me reads as an allegory about how women are expected to give attention to mediocre men who think they deserve the world, but can't even figure out how to do basic household tasks. Great movie
