Ghost in the Shell 2017
Very strange to cast a white woman in Ghost in the Shell, especially as Asian actors have a hard enough time getting roles in Hollywood. I cannot believe there was not a single Japanese American actress who could have been good enough to play the role. Why does Hollywood continue to overlook Asian actors in favor of white actors? It's so annoying.

The Day He Arrives 2011
Poetic, yet so simplistic, Hong Sang-Soo's "The Day He Arrives" feels like perfect minimalist story telling. The character feel so natural, their conversations realistic, their actions so everyday and mundane, and yet you can not look away. The gorgeous black and white cinematography only increases the pleasure. I truly adore Hong Sang-soo films.

Il Mare 2000
A lovely film with a really great soundtrack that I loved so much. It is beautifully shot and beautifully acted creating a unforgettable romantic atmosphere. The characters convey loneliness more accurately than I have seen in any other film.
Unsurprisingly it is so much better than the hollywood remake named 'the lake house', if you can not speak Korean then please just use subtitles and watch the original, it really is great.

Happy Together 1997
Wong Kar-wai is a poet with his camera, using light and color to create such strong emotions. A hopelessly beautiful and tragic film that will stay with you for some time after you watch it.
The tango in the kitchen scene and the tape scene had me sobbing, the acting is wonderful and so full of emotion that you do truly care about the characters long after the film ends. Please do yourself a favour and watch this masterpiece, for it is extraordinary.
