    The Terminator

    ★★★★

The Terminator is an 80s classic that was far ahead of its time. Arnold Schwarzenegger, as the titular Terminator, carries this movie with the unconventional yet simultaneously insane methods he uses to try and kill Sarah Connor. Even outside of the Terminator himself, the way the movie is directed, coupled with the ahead of its time visuals, really makes this film a marvel to look back on. The romantic subplot between Sarah and Kyle comes a bit out of nowhere,…

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

    ★★½

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the most unnecessary and boring addition to the franchise that haphazardly bridges the gap to the Deathly Hallows duology. Most of the story lacks the real tension it should have, leaving much to be desired out of certain characters and plotlines. Thankfully, the last thirty minutes save this from being the only true bad Harry Potter movie by adding the sufficient intrigue the story needs. While the film allows the audience to enjoy the characters in Hogwarts one last time, the scenes with them lack direction and are far too monotonous.

  • The Crucible

    The Crucible

    ★★★½

The Crucible is a well-produced adaptation of a great story. The movie is glued together by its central performers playing the characters of John Proctor and Abigail. It's fascinating to watch as Abigail quickly descends into her world of lies, while Proctor chooses to morally correct his mistakes of the past and do the right thing. Some of the quicker parts of the original story are stretched a bit thin across this film's four-act structure, but it's a solid adaptation.
