  Bong Joon-ho the man that you are!!!!!!

  i had a fantastic time watching this

  i really appreciated Pattinsons ability to be such a charming failure. i was giggling seeing him fumble about. but he also really embodied the other, angrier version of the character just as well. you could tell who was who on first glance.

  the cinematography…
  i loved the multiple instances where we think it will show Orlok but it cuts to Ellen instead. loooved the shadows, a beautiful adaptation of what made the 1922 version so revolutionary. the special lenses for the cameras that only let in blue and orange… blue like the tints used to signify night in the original… muah. the practical candle lighting, like there really is no replacing practical effects.
