Moments of brilliance truly shine through and yet it feels as if the director had to dumb down certain elements to make it more accessible for kids.
This is a masterpiece in visual and audio design, such a shame the script falters otherwise this could have been a classic for the ages.
Still slaps though.
In all honesty, could easily have been 3 hours long and developed some of the relationship dynamics even further. In my opinion, one of Scotts underrated films. No one does historical epic better than Scott. The set design and costumes are great and the film just feels, right. Men who do not waver and whose morals do not falter, but stay true to who they are and their belief in the freedom God provides to every person, irrespective of their opposition.
