Media’s unrelenting cynicism towards the masses transformed into a haunting, biblical epic. A study in national trauma through eerily tangible dystopia and Kelly’s signature metaphysical obsessions.

The wealthy paying their sins away, exploiting poorer nations as tropical getaways, where they escape their issues in grotesque celebration of self, only serving to devalue themselves and the world around them. Brandon certainly has his father’s eye, lingering on closeups of skin and orifices, as well as hypnotic spaces both natural and man-made, keeping things visually engaging even when the plot gets a bit muddy. Seems to me like Brandon went on some “exotic” vacations in the past (either as a child with his parents or on his own) and rightfully hasn’t been able to ignore the moral conflict they present.
