Bong Joon-ho’s adaptation was about as close to the book as most films wind up being, unfortunately. Midgard doesn’t exist and “old earth” is still their home planet, the creepers are way less aggressive, Marshall has a wife (whom he’s constantly seeking validation from), Berto’s name is now Timo for some reason.. oh and the ending is entirely different; just to name a few things. Considering how much more intolerable Marshall now is in the movie I’m not too upset…

When the Wind Blows 1986
One of those movies I’ll probably only see once, and I’m fine with that. It’s phenomenal. I hardly want to view it as entertainment, rather an educational piece.
