The Royal Tenenbaums 2001
4.1 is so delusional.
This must’ve been so cool back in 2005 with the Jess from New Girl, twee looking crowd. It’s pretty lame today. Wes Anderson has a good eye for visuals and his style is unique, but the movie isn’t funny or interesting enough. Gene Hackman, RIP king, gave a good performance, but everyone else stoically looked into the camera wearing a funny costume. How funny and cool!? If you love Wes Anderson you’re soooooo cringe

Sound of Freedom 2023
I kept muttering “the sound of freedom” the entire viewing. The movie is pretty bland and boring, but there’s nothing horrible about it. It’s slightly better than Rebel Moon which is barely a compliment.
The social aspect of this movie is far more interesting. The director, producers, and Jim Caveziel are all Maga right wing Q folks and made this movie to own the libs?
Churches were buying up theaters just to own the libs? Showings would be sold out…

He should’ve shot that little brat! After years of procrastination, I finally watched this. It reminded me a lot of Lawrence of Arabia. Stunning cinematography, landscapes, and costumes. I really liked the first 2/3, and just like Lawrence, the final 1/3 really lags. By the end my patience had worn pretty thin. Recent examples like Dune 2 and Oppenheimer, showed how to make all three hours engaging (this did not).
Many people say this is Kubrick’s masterpiece and I think that’s psychotic. The dude made 2001…
