  The Salem Witch Trial Museum has a great voice-over narration to describe how witchcraft was a reality to the early settlers. It is something along the lines of: the devil was in the howling wind, in the hunger, in the sicknesses, in the cold winters and in the warnings of the preachers during daily prayer.
