Some fun performances all round (worth watching for cullen's weirdo accent tbh), but the movie is messy. The editing feels a bit off and honestly the messaging is kinda bad? The premise is creative and provides a very good opportunity to explore life and death, as well comment on class, and the apathy of people. But none of these ideas are fleshed out - we are instead distracted by a political plotline that leads us to a very rushed and naive ending.

Would recommend but maybe lower your expectations

Lily gives an amazing performance in this classic horror story that has some themes about innocence, sexuality, autonomy (and more). What I love about Eggers is how he explores these ideas through various aspects of the film. I especially love the camera work here - there are some cool shots with mirrors which are just visually pleasing. But you also get really claustrophobic framing in scenes with characters that feel trapped, or where they appear floating when possessed! The cinematography, the use of colour with the pale blues and yellows and the score all relay some emotion to the audience.

    Would recommend.

It is kinda dumb BUT i do also love the premise and how quickly the movie just dives in to it. It's good fun!

A really fun adventure movie. It has some dumb moments but it's such a classic - the music, the presentation, the camera work and effects are great. Shout out to Marion and Indy, my nazi killing power couple.
