Crazy look into SNL’s beginnings. Not having heard other accounts of that night I wonder to what degree some events were depicted accurately, particularly surrounding Belushi.
I’m interested to watch the first episode now with this all in mind
As a story, I literally don’t know what to say. I liked it very much, but I don’t know why.
As cinema, it’s so full of character, with every shot being worthy of its own framed picture. Very stylized, very set-like, and very Wes Anderson. It’s a joy just watching how the camera moves in this moving picture.
The performances are all wonderful, and as a small note it was refreshing to see Steve Carrel in such a subdued yet fitting role.
10/10 would recommend. 4/5 stars.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Liked the idea that Moana has matured with the understanding of what she’s leaving behind, as well as the theme of connection, but overall the story didn’t feel very strong.
Songs weren’t too memorable, either.
Where did bat lady go? Just sing a song and bye forever.
And a bigger gripe with Disney — where are the consequences? Maoi gets his tattoos stripped from him (but that seems to be it, his powers seem intact), and then not 5 minutes later he’s back to normal. Come on, live with the bad things that can happen!
