Opus 2025
Hoooooooooly shit. This film is like if you combined the best parts of Midsommar and The Menu and added a funky soundtrack by Nile Rogers to it. Ayo Edebiri showcased her star power to the fullest playing the likable yet quirky Ariel, a journalist who is pure and not given a chance to blossom until now. Edebiri brings her standard yet unique humor quips to this role and plays the perfect skeptical journalist. Malkovich, Lewis, and Bartlett are all phenomenal…

Mickey 17 2025
Honestly serve. Mickey 17 was an interesting Sci-Fi adventure that truly took all of my favorite actors, meshed them with one of my favorite directors, and put a political subplot to the idea of basically Groundhog Day. I was extremely impressed by Pattinson, Ackie, Yuen, Colette, and Ruffalo for their performances. Pattinson truly pulled off an Orphan Black effect by making each of the Mickeys an individual character. Ruffalo and Colette did a great job being the Trump-esque villain figureheads. An overall good watch with interesting morality and depth.

Genuinely the worst movie I’ve seen in theaters and I’m pissed I spent money on it instead of downloading it like everyone else. Could’ve been a decent short film but the scenes drug on forever, the plot was basically vacant, and the jump scares felt like a creepy pasta video from 2015. None of the reviews I read for this make sense with what I saw- this isn’t a ghost film, this isn’t worth your time.
My assumption of what…

Okay so I definitely liked this film more than the haters on Twitter…but I also think it’s the weakest of the trilogy. Mia Goth and the ensemble did a fantastic job acting throughout and it truly lived up to the 80’s slasher hype. However, the reveal in the climax and the third act felt like they didn’t connect with the rest of the movie in my opinion. Bacon did a great job as the first level villain with a greasy vibe, but the unveiling of the main antagonist felt lackluster. Overall though, Ti West did a great job with a debut trilogy of films.
