  “Nope” was an uncharacteristically mid showing from Mr. Peele. A total goose egg. Real shame because I loved his prior two movies, especially getting to see them in theaters. It was so underwhelming that I don’t even have the energy to get into why I didn’t like it. The movie was just so slow and boring, I almost fell asleep (it was a 10:30pm showing, I must admit). The only part that really hit for me was the subplot with the monkey Gordy. That scene was actually really scary and good. Everything else: meh.

  This movie got so much hype, I had to go see it. So I went on a Tuesday night, alone. It’s gotta take a lot of hype for me to go see a movie alone on a Tuesday night because that’s some loser shit.
