Vagabond 1985
It’s been a few years, but thinking about since seeing La Chimera. This is the movie I wanted, instead of La Chimera.
As a city dweller, it expanded my mind to think about what homelessness in rural settings would entail and how dilapidated homes in rural France look like mansions to a Canadian kid in the 2020s.
I love Agnes Varda.

PSA: This film is beautiful snd sets you up to think about rural Italy in the 80s (?), old school archaeology as extraction, etc
However! I want to warn any autistic or sensitive with sound folk, the sound design is… intensely annoying. It’s all obviously intentional and kind of more annoying because it’s done with a wink and many (non ND) people will love it.
