Jeremy Saulnier again proves that he's a master of tension who understands that the threat of violence is far more unbearable and oppressive than violence itself (though the film has plenty of that).
I also love that Saulnier has managed to make a profoundly anti-police film without actually killing any cops. Aaron Pierce's Terry Richmond is really as absolutely peaceful as he can be in the circumstances.
